RESULTS DAY 15TH AUGUST 2019: If you do not get either your CF or CI choice, do not panic – there are many excellent degrees available through UCAS clearing from top universities. In addition if your grades are higher than expected, UCAS adjustment could also provide an alternative to your original choices. Adjustment HOW TO APPLY: If you achieve grades that are better than your CF entry requirements, you can change your original CF choice for a more competitive course, e.g. achieving AAA instead of AAB, or AAB instead of ABB etc.
-
You have 5 x 24 hour periods including weekends, to find and accept an adjustment choice, from the time that your CF choice turns to UF (Unconditional Firm) in TRACK.
-
You must keep hold of your CF choice until you have written confirmation of an adjustment place from the relevant admissions tutors.
-
Monitor your TRACK account to find out when your CF changes to UF.
Clearing BE PREPARED: If you are concerned that you may miss your entry requirements it is a good idea to prepare in advance for clearing. The more prepared you are, the more likely you will be successful in getting onto the degree you want.
-
From 5th July check ucas.com for courses in clearing
-
Before 15th August, make a list of courses with relevant admissions tel. numbers & email addresses that you think you might be interested in
-
Have this list to hand on results day, along with your UCAS ID.
-
From 8.00 am on 15th August, you can obtain verbal offers for courses in clearing by telephoning university admissions hotlines.
-
You can only enter your clearing decision in UCAS Track from 3.00 pm on 15th August, and you must have an agreement from your clearing choice to do so.
Some students may find that universities send emails and marketing information to offer a place on one of their courses in clearing. I strongly advise that you research your options rather than accepting a place of which you are not certain.
