UCAS
As with UK students, I can help EU and International students with every aspect of the application -making sure that they are targeting themselves towards degrees at universities that fit with their aspirations as well as predicted grades.
International Qualifications
Some students are likely to need additional help when translating their home qualifications into UK equivalent grades. I can help students to investigate and confirm the entry requirements they need, so that they are on track with their applications.
Academic Reference and Predicted Grades
UCAS applications need to be supported by an academic reference written by a tutor who knows the student and their academic abilities. Subject references must reflect on performance at high school/college and suitability for the degree. Applications to the UK take place during the last year of school, so predicted grades for all subjects/diplomas are also required.
Admissions Assessments
BMAT, UCAT, LNAT, MAT, STEP etc. There are usually test centres in the country where the student resides; some tests may be done online.
English Language Requirements – Including British Students Overseas
English language requirements vary from degree to degree. International students can apply to take GCSE English Language, a Cambridge Certificate, IELTS or TOEFL at local test centres where the student is resident. Students who have a British passport and have been taught in English but have lived overseas will still need an English language qualification.
Foundation Degrees for International Students
One-year foundation degrees are a pathway into UK undergraduate degrees for international students as well as some overseas British students who have not followed the UK curriculum at level 3 (e.g. A levels). Usually there is a science or a humanities pathway, and these need to be selected in line with the preferred degree.
Visas
Advice on student visas can be obtained through the UK Government, and student services at all UK universities. International students requiring a UK student visa may need to take the UKVI IELTS. Student Services at all UK universities should be able to help, and the British Council also has some clear advice.
